Sticky Jazz is now Just Another Story

After receiving feedback on the Sticky Jazz alpha build, we found that many people felt that the stick figure art style did not translate well into 3D. This was an opinion even held by people from the Hyun’s Dojo community, who were massive stick figure enthusiasts. After some careful consideration, we decided to repurpose our game engine to create a project that I’ve been meaning to make for a couple of years. I present to you: Just Another Story.

After months of work, we finally have an alpha build that we can show to the public. Right now we are focusing on testing the “game feel” of the engine. We want to see how gratifying it feels for the player to land attacks on the enemy and also successfully execute the Dodge Parry mechanic in our game.

You can get a copy of the alpha build from this link.

Sticky Jazz

I am pleased to announce that Diamondhenge Studios will be working in collaboration with Hyun’s Dojo to produce our first commercial indie game. The game (named Sticky Jazz for now) will be a hack and slash RPG with an emphasis on tactical thinking and reflexes. The battle system will require the player to think carefully about how they approach different enemies and situations. I do plan on allowing the player to customize their character. With a vast selection of playstyles, the player can choose how they approach different enemies and situations. However, encounters will be versatile enough such that the player must learn to adapt and change their strategies.

Follow us on Facebook or Twitter if you want to keep up to date with the project.
