Final Stages of Tyrion 1 and Future Projects

Hi everyone,

We released the massive content update for Attorney of the Arcane last month, and I’m glad to see that fans—both new and old—have been enjoying the new content. It really makes me happy to see that people like the new story elements that were added.

The Steam Workshop translation system is mostly implemented and finished. We’re just taking some time to test the systems for that. So we should be seeing that released in March.

I’ve also been successfully admitted into the Playstation and Xbox development programs. I’m currently working on porting Attorney of the Arcane to console using their dev kits. A lot of this is new to me, however, so I can’t commit to a release date for the console releases. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated.

Unfortunately, my developer application with Nintendo has been completely ignored, and any attempts to contact them have been met with silence. I don’t think we’ll be able to get Attorney of the Arcane on the Nintendo Switch.

I know everyone has been eagerly anticipating the release of the sequel. However, I have to be realistic with the current speed of the sprite art coming in. I don’t think we’ll be seeing a release anytime soon. However, I will say that the extra time being spent will be worth it. As I’m sure most of you have seen, the rendering quality of the Tyrion 2 sprites has been nothing short of phenomenal. We’re also including more animated poses, which include breakdown animations for each of the culprits.

While working on the Attorney of the Arcane update, I was experimenting with expanding my team and network of artists. However, it’s been extremely difficult to find artists who can match Reigen’s rendering quality while staying within my budget. I’m also a little burnt out from working on visual novels, so I’ll be doing something different for my next project.

Right now, my plans for Diamondhenge Entertainment are to use the resources I have to expand production and create lower-budget projects. My hopes are to use the revenue from those to speed up production on the sequel. I know in a previous post, I committed to a lot of different projects, but these are the projects I plan to work on in the order I have planned this year.

  1. An RPG inspired by Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

    • This project will be constructed using assets bought from the Unity Asset Store and assets created by me.

    • The purpose of this project is to take a much-needed break from visual novels, practice my game development skills, and create a second project with a more conservative budget.

  2. Tyrion Cuthbert and the Hollow Construct

    • This visual novel will be shorter than Attorney of the Arcane and will feature one large murder mystery that takes place outside of the courtroom.

    • The gameplay will be largely the same, but it will feature in-field investigations and arguments like in Ace Attorney Investigations.

    • This project will utilize a different art team to give the art team for Tyrion 2 some breathing room.

  3. .NULL (formerly Arthur Ashford)

    1. This will be a horror-themed roguelike visual novel, featuring turn-based RPG combat.

    2. The gameplay is centered on the idea of constructing a character with a customizable backstory and skill set, allowing players to overcome challenges in a variety of ways.

    3. This project will use the assets produced for Arthur Ashford.

As always, thank you all for your support, and I hope you continue to enjoy our games!
